Beauty Belly
Birth art for the expecting goddess
![]() Schedule your castingCasts are best done at 35-40 weeks along to capture the fullness of the belly and breasts if included. Schedule in advance to make sure we can get your casting done in that timeframe, especially if you want newborn photos in the cast or elaborate custom artwork. | ![]() We chatI want you to feel as comfortable as possible. I always take a few minutes beforehand to get to know you, tell you about the process, and look at different cast styles. We brainstorm about artwork ideas. | ![]() Getting castYou wear shorts and a bra if you would like. Most women choose not to wear a bra to get a more accurate shape of the breasts. I cover your lap in plastic, have you sit, and cover you with several layers of plaster. This takes about 1 hour. |
---|---|---|
![]() It dries...and dries...and dries. Depending on how thick the plaster is, it could take several weeks to completely dry. | ![]() ReinforcementWeak spots are reinforced with more plaster. | ![]() TrimmedThe edges are trimmed down, cleaned up, and left to dry again. |
![]() Sand...and sand...and sand. | ![]() Acrylic mediumSome kits use plaster to create a smooth finish which can crack over time. I use acrylic modeling medium to coat the entire cast which won't bend and crack. | ![]() The artThe art is painted on your cast after discussing and designing together. It is made ready to hang (if requested) and coated with a protective finish. |

Belly Casts
The process:
(Click for full description)
1. I come to you and cast ($80): I bring all supplies for the casting, do your cast in your home, then leave it with you to finish and paint.
2. Casting and prep ($120) : Includes casting, sanding, trimming, smoothing, and finishing so that the cast will be ready for you to paint.
3. One solid color: ($145) : Casting, prepping, painting one solid color of your choice, made ready to hang, and clear coated for protection.
4. One solid color and simple design ($165 and up): As above but with simple designs such as henna, name and DOB, or design of choice.
5. Full custom artwork ($185 and up): Brainstorm with me and we will come up with a meaningful design just for you. The cast will not be sealed for good until you have looked at and approved of the artwork. Then made ready for you to display.

Belly Bowls: ($85): one color patina or simple design. Call for a quote for custom artwork and more intricate designs.

Travel fee ($25): You have two choices for your casting. I come to your home, set up tarps, and do the casting there. For this there is a $25 travel charge. Or you can come to my place and have the casting done here for no extra charge. If you are allergic to animals, this would not be the best choice for you. We live in the Midway area and castings are done in privacy in my living room. Feel free to bring your partner or friends!
